27 Arrested For Stone Pelting Incident At Surat Ganesh Pandal; Gujarat Home Minister Issues Stern Warning

Surat: Twenty-seven (27) people have been arrested for allegedly instigating the stone-pelting incident contained in the Sayedpura area of Surat on Sunday (September eight) night. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi shared this information on Monday, 09 September 2024.

Harsh Sanghvi further said that CCTV footage from the area had been reviewed to perceive and arrest the rest suspects.

Earlier on Monday, 09 September 2024, Harsh Sanghvi visited the spot contained in the Sayedpura area of Surat where the incident of stone pelting on Ganesh Pandal came about.

“The investigation is underway. Police are deployed in each and every of the areas of Surat. People that would breach the peace contained in the state, action shall be taken against them,” he said.

Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said that after stones were pelted at a Ganesh pandal, a clash broke out contained in the Sayedpura area of Surat.

“Some youngsters pelted stones at a Ganesh pandal, after which a clash broke out. The police in an instant took away those youngsters from there. Police were in an instant deployed contained in the area. Lathi charge changed into done in each and every of the areas where it changed into needed and tear gas changed into used.
