4 Indians Amongst 41 Killed After Massive Fire Breaks Out In Building Housing Workers In Kuwait’s Mangaf City
Reports indicate that the building housed a significant Malyalam population, with two of the deceased hailing from Tamil Nadu and North India.
At least 41 people were killed on Wednesday in a fire incident in a building that accommodated workers in the Mangaf city in southern Kuwait. Among the victims, four individuals of Indian descent were also killed in the incident. Official confirmation from authorities regarding the identities of the victims is still pending.
The incident was reported to authorities at 6:00AM, Major General Eid Rashed Hamad told Reuters. “The building in which the fire occurred was used to house workers, and there was a large number of workers there. Dozens were rescued, but unfortunately there were many deaths as a result of inhaling smoke from the fire,” another senior police commander told state TV.

In response to the emergency, the Kuwait Health Ministry has mobilized efforts to provide medical assistance to all injured individuals, some of whom are in critical condition.
The Kuwaiti health ministry said about 43 people were hospitalized due to the fire, and four of those people had died. It wasn’t clear if the four fatalities were in addition to the 35 reported by police.
