9 dead as Walkie-Talkies explode in Lebanon’s Beirut day after pager blasts

Beirut: In a surprising accident on Wednesday, nine people were dead as a result of explosions in Walkie-Talkies in Lebanon’s Beirut. Local media reports suggest that the blasts took place in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley and Southern Lebanon, killing three people. For the unversed, 3,000 Hezbollah members were reportedly injured by explosion of pagers in Lebanon on Tuesday, as per a report by News18.

Lebanon’s Health Minister confirms series of explosions

Israeli officials have been calling for Hezbollah to be disarmed and faraway from southern Lebanon in accordance with UN Security Council resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 2nd Lebanon War.
