Netflix India recently shared a video on Instagram featuring actors Sparsh Srivastava and Pratibha Ranta from Kiran Rao’s directorial recreating the viral ‘Gajagamini‘ walk from ‘Heeramandi‘. This iconic walk was originally performed by Aditi Rao Hydari‘s character, Bibbojaan, in the song ‘Saiyaan Hatto Jao.’ In the video, Sparsh and Pratibha strolled through the Netflix office corridor, each holding a sunflower, and perfectly recreating Aditi’s graceful walk. The video quickly caught the Heeramandi star’s attention, prompting her to comment, “Bibbojaan certified! Nailed it guys, ” with a red heart emoji.

Aditi Rao Hydari portrayed the courtesan Bibbojaan, the elder daughter of Manisha Koirala’s character Mallikajaan. The show has been a hit and has already been renewed for the second season. In a recent interview with Zoom TV, the actor revealed that the entire ‘gajagamini’ walk scene was meticulously planned by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali making a simple act of a walk as artsy as it gets. She shared, “He wanted the dupatta to fall on a particular beat, the head to turn, and the ‘chann’ (sound of the ghungroo) to match exactly with the beat. It was all his vision and creation.”

Meanwhile, ‘Laapataa Ladies‘ premiered on Netflix on April 26. Besides Sparsh and Pratibha, the film also stars Nitanshi Goel. The story revolved around two brides who accidentally get swapped during a train journey and how their respective stories unfold in two different villages. Directed by Kiran Rao, the film has received positive feedback from audiences.
