Asaduddin Owaisi opposes ‘One nation one election’ proposal, says ‘Will destroy federalism’

AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi raised his objection against the ‘One nation one election’ proposal, pointing out that this will destroy federalism and it pose a threat to democracy which is a basic structure of the Constitution.

Owaisi took to X and wrote, “I've consistently opposed #OneNationOneElections since it's far a solution in search of a difficulty. It destroys federalism and compromises democracy, which are a part of the basic structure of the constitution.”

The AIMIM leader Owaisi rejected the idea that of simultaneous elections and often often called it a necessity of PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah handiest.

“A pair of elections aren’t a difficulty for anyone rather then Modi and Shah. Simply because they have gotten a compulsive should campaign in even municipal and local body elections does now no longer mean that we need simultaneous polls. Meanwhile, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said that One Nation, One Election is nothing but an divert attention from the Government’s failures.
