Nine killed, 10 injured in gunfight at Khamenlok
In a new outbreak of violence in Manipur, nine people were murdered, including a lady, and ten others were seriously injured. The victims were killed in a shooting incident in the Khamenlok neighbourhood late Tuesday night.
The new violence has been reported along the boundary between Kangpokpi district and Imphal East. Around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a group of armed assailants began attacking civilians in the neighbourhood in ethnically charged Manipur, according to authorities.
The shooting began as security personnel arrived in the area to confront the perpetrators.

According to persons familiar with the situation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) detained Tamil Nadu minister V Senthil Balaji on Wednesday for alleged money laundering after questioning him for hours, and he was hospitalised after complaining of discomfort.
The arrest occurred only hours after Chief Minister MK Stalin criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for using "backdoor tactics" against political opponents, as the ED raided locations associated to Balaji as part of its investigation into him in Tamil Nadu's Chennai, Karur, and Erode on Tuesday.
