Brij Bhushan’s 1st Reaction To Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia Political Plunge; ‘Congress Scripted Drama 2 Years Ago’

New Delhi: In a prime development upfront of the Haryana Assembly elections, wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress on Friday, criticizing the BJP and pledging to work for women folk’s issues. Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh answered on Saturday, accusing top Congress leaders and claiming, “the move began two years ago,” just about Phogat and Punia’s protests against him, which involved sexual harassment allegations.

“About two years ago, these sportspersons had started a conspiracy on January 18. The day this all began, I had said that this became a political conspiracy. The Congress became involved at some point of this, Deepender Hooda became involved, Bhupinder Hooda became involved. The total script became written. It truly is no longer an agitation by sportspersons. And now after about two years, it has became clear that the Congress became involved at some point of this drama,” PTI quoted Brij Bhusan as saying.

Brij Bhushan took a potshot at Bhupinder Hooda and stated that congress leaders from Haryana are on the back of the “wrestlers movement”.

“The Congress became on the back of it, in particular Bhupinder Hooda, Deepender Hooda, Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi. It truly is a movement of the Congress. On this whole movement, the conspiracy that came about against us, Bhupinder Hooda became leading it. I tell the people of Haryana that Bhupinder Hooda, Deepender Hooda, Bajrang or Vinesh, they were no longer sitting (on protest) for the glory of ladies folk. Resulting from them, the daughters of Haryana are facing embarrassment. We are no longer accountable for it, Bhupinder Hooda and Deependra Hooda and these protesters are accountable for it,” news agency ANI quoted Brij Bhushan as saying.

“What will they answer on the day when it could be proved that I was once no longer present in Delhi on the day of the incident on which allegations are being made? They used daughters for politics, defamed daughters. They were no longer battling for the honor of daughters, they were battling for politics,” Bhushan added.

Singh slammed Congress leaders who joined the wrestlers’ protests, declaring that Congress leaders took part within the protests lower than the guise of attempting to find justice for wrestlers. Eventuallu wrestlers were became pawns by the Congress leaders. He also alleged that “The Congress, along side the wrestlers, has undermined wrestling at some point of this us of a.”

In a significant political move, Olympians Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, who were on the forefront of the wrestlers’ protest against Brij Bhushan last year, officially joined the Congress party on Friday. The duo expressed their determination, declaring they would “no longer be scared or backtrack.”

All during the announcement, Vinesh Phogat addressed the ongoing legal battle surrounding the sexual harassment allegations against Brij Bhushan. “The fight is continuous; it hasn’t ended yet. It’s in court. We can win that fight in addition to,” she asserted. With their newfound political platform, she emphasized their commitment to serving the nation.
