Kedarnath: A helicopter with six passengers onboard made an emergency landing at Kedarnath after it suffered technical glitch on the way. The chopper made an emergency landing nearly 100 metres before the helipad, however, the passengers including the pilot escaped unhurt.

“A helicopter of Kestrel Aviation co coming from Sirsi helipad to Sh Kedarnath Dham carrying 6 passengers along with a pilot had to make an emergency landing approx 100 metres before the helipad of Sh Kedarnath Dham at around 7.05 hrs due to some technical problem,” district disaster management officer at Rudraprayag was quoted as saying by India Today.

The incident was reported at a time when the Char Dham Yatra started on May 10 after the opening of three of the four shrines, including Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath. The doors of Badrinath was opened for devotees on May 12.

Notably, the Char Dham Yatra is a significant spiritual yatra in Hinduism. This spiritual journey starts from April-May to October-November. The devotees believed that one should complete the Char Dham Yatra in a clockwise direction.
