‘Done Well In Ranji…’, Says Musheer Khan After Performing In Duleep Trophy Match

New Delhi: India B’s all-rounder Musheer Khan, whose first innings-knock of 181 set the stage for India B’s 76-run victory over India A within the Duleep Trophy first-round match on the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, said he knew about getting a chance to perform within the tournament after doing well in Ranji Trophy. On the opening day of the match, Musheer impressed every person together with his temperament and self belief to score an impressive 181 runs in 373 balls – his third top quality cricket century. He also hit sixteen fours and five sixes, to take India B from 94/7 to 321 in first innings. The total turned into enough for them to take a Ninety-run lead and at last win the sport.

“My preparation turned into really good with my father. I had done well in Ranji so I knew I may get a chance here. Every ball I turned into encouraging him from the non-striker’s end to play it out (his partnership with Saini). I believe it turned into best the primary or 2d time for me to take catches at short leg,” said Musheer on the end of the match after being awarded the Player of the Match.

India B skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran turned into a contented man after his team got six points on board within the Duleep Trophy. “We were trying to bowl first. Getting back from Ninety/7 to win the sport is special. To be on the winning side is normally good. Had four fast bowlers and two spinners – had a terrific combination. We’ll have a seriously look into them later (their next opponent India C). We’ve got three more days. We’ll cool down for a couple of days and get back.”

India A captain Shubman Gill rued the mistakes his team made in the case of plans with bat and ball, which cost them a win. “Musheer and Saini played very well. Seeing that there’s now not a lot going down from the wicket, we may’ve long past to the bouncer option earlier to Saini. Looking back you may point to different things.”

“But out there we went for the option we felt turned into the right. The intensity with which we bowled within the 2d innings turned into commendable. Until about lunch time, we were talking that if we get a a hundred-run partnership we may’ve got the target,” Gill added.

India A will now take on India D while India B will lock horns with India C in Anantpur from September 12.
