Earthquake tremors felt in Delhi-NCR, 5.8 magnitude recorded on Richter Scale

Mild tremors were felt in Delhi and the national capital region (NCR) after an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 struck Pakistan on Wednesday. Tremors were also felt in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir. Afghanistan became also jolted by sudden tremors. No major damage became reported in Delhi and NCR. The epicentre of the earthquake became 25 km south-west of Karor in Pakistan. The depth of the quake became 10 km.
In accordance with the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the Magnitude of the earthquake became 5.7 and took place 61 km SW of Dera Ismail Khan in Pakistan at 12:28 pm, local time, which is roughly 1 pm in India.

Delhi and its neighbouring regions recently felt mild tremors for the second time in two weeks. On August 29, an earthquake measuring 5.7 magnitude hit Afghanistan, originating from a depth of 255 kilometres beneath the Earth’s surface.
