ESPN chooses new trio for its morning radio crew

ESPN has reportedly found its new trio to lead its morning radio show.

Super Bowl-winning defensive end Chris Canty will be alongside SiriusXM's Evan Cohen, and Michelle Smallmon, replacing the previous trio of Keyshawn Johnson, Jay Williams, and Max Kellerman, according to a report by the New York Post.

Canty, who played 11 years in the NFL and won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants, has been on ESPN Radio alongside Chris Carlin for the last year.

Cohen was part of SiriusXM’s show “Morning Men,” from which he will be departing for ESPN Radio. Smallmon had worked with 101 ESPN in St. Louis before she was called up to do national work late last year.

Johnson and Kellerman are both no longer with the network following layoffs at The Walt Disney Co.  (DIS) - Get Free Report sports network at the end of June. Williams said on the “The Pat Bev Podcast” in June that his contract is “up in three months.”

The report said that outside of Mike Greenberg’s show from 10 a.m. to noon, most of the network’s lineup is still up in the air.
