Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan Goes Past Chris Gayle To Record Fastest Hundred In T20 Cricket

New Delhi: Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan recorded the fastest T20I century in history in just 27 balls as his team chased down Cyprus’ 191/7 on Monday at the Happy Valley Ground in the second match of the six-game series. Chasing a mammoth target, Chauhan’s unbeaten 144 off just 41 deliveries saw Estonia overhaul the target in just 13 overs with six wickets in hand. With this win, Estonia took a 2-0 lead.

Chauhan thus went past Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, who scored a 33-ball ton against Nepal at the start of this year. If T20s are concerned, Chauhan surpassed West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who hit a 30-ball ton during his 175 not out for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2013 against now-defunct Pune Warriors India.
