Hardeep Singh Nijjar Killing: Canada Arrests Fourth Indian National In Khalistani Terrorist Murder, Issues Official Release

New Delhi: India and Canada have been experiencing a sour diplomatic relationship for the last few months and this sudden change happened ever since Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau blamed India for the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar – India had reacted to these claims by shutting them down and calling them ‘baseless’ but the relations between the two countries have remained strained since then. Earlier this month, the Canadian Police had announced that they had made three arrests in the Hardeep Singh Nijjar Killing and all three accused were Indian NationalsKaran Brar, Kamalpreet Singh and Karanpreet Singh. Now, in another major development, the Canada Police has issued an official release stating a fourth arrest in the case and this arrest is also of an Indian National, Amardeep Singh.

Fourth Indian National Arrested In Hardeep Singh Nijjar Killing

As mentioned earlier, Canadian authorities on Saturday arrested a fourth Indian national for his role in the killing of separatist Khalistan Hardeep Singh Nijjar, according to an official release. Twenty-two-year-old Amardeep Singh, a resident of Brampton, Surrey, and Abbotsford areas of Canada, has been charged with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Canada Police Official Release Says…

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said that Amardeep Singh was arrested on May 11 for his role in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. He was already in the custody of the Peel Regional Police for unrelated firearms charges out, the official release said. “This arrest shows the nature of our ongoing investigation to hold responsible those that played a role in the homicide of Hardeep Singh Nijjar,” said Superintendent Mandeep Mooker, the Officer in Charge of IHIT.

Earlier Developments In Hardeep Singh Nijjar Case

As said before, three Indians have already been arrested by the Police; they all had been living as the non-permanent residents in Alberta for the last three to five years. The names and ages of those arrested are Karan Brar (22 years old), Kamalpreet Singh (22 years old) and Karanpreet Singh (28 years old). All three have been charged with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) also released the photographs of these three accused.

Who Is Hardeep Singh Nijjar, How Did He Die?

Hardeep Nijjar, 45, was killed outside Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia on June 18, 2023. Nijjar, who was designated a terrorist by the National Investigation Agency in 2020, was shot and killed as he came out of a Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on the evening of June 18, 2023. The video of his killing that reportedly surfaced in March recently, showed Nijjar being shot by armed men in what has been described as a ‘contract killing’.
