In a dramatic turn of events, a private helicopter en route to pick up Shiv Sena Deputy Leader Sushma Andhare crashed during landing, officials confirmed. A live video recording shared by Andhare captured the harrowing moment as the chopper attempted to land at an undisclosed location. The footage shows the helicopter swerving, wobbling, losing balance, and ultimately crashing with a deafening impact, engulfing the area in a cloud of dust.
Fortunately, the pilot managed to jump to safety before the crash, escaping unhurt. However, the white-and-blue hired rotary-winger sustained significant damage in the incident that unfolded in Mahad town, Raigad.
Following the crash, police and rescue teams swiftly arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances. Meanwhile, a shaken Andhare, who was slated to board the same helicopter, opted to continue her journey by car to fulfill her election commitments across the district.
