In a recent study done in India, by the International Journal of Reproduction Contraception Obstetrics and Gynecology, out of a total of 19,383 pregnant women who visited over a period of one year, out of which 2028 (10.4%) were diagnosed with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.   • Chronic Hypertension: High blood pressure that exists before pregnancy or is diagnosed before 20 weeks of pregnancy.

  • Preeclampsia: A serious condition that occurs after 20 weeks of pregnancy, characterized by high blood pressure and protein in the urine.
