New Delhi: Talking in regards to the Netflix documentary ‘Mr. McMahon’, at some stage in episode two, former WWF referee Rita Chatterton’s rape accusation against Vince McMahon in 1986 is in brief covered. There's a clip that takes us back to 1992 where Rita Chatterton’s appearance on Geraldo Rivera’s television show in 1992 where she said about Vince McMahon.

‘I used to be once forced into oral sex with Vince McMahon. After I couldn’t complete his desires, he got really angry and started ripping off my jeans, pulled me on top of him, and told me again, if I desired to have a million-dollar-a-year contract, I needed to fulfill him. And if I didn’t satisfy him, I used to be once blackballed. I used to be once scared. My wrist changed into all black-and-blue. He just didn’t stop.’ said Rita Chatterton.

All through the making of the documentary, the producers of Mr. McMahon asked Vince in 2021 about Chatterton’s rape allegation, he spoke back with what I believe may maybe be the most disturbing quote from him in the total six-part docuseries:

“After you’re accused of rape, you’re a rapist. Nonetheless it undoubtedly changed into consensual. And undoubtedly, had it been a rape, um, the statute of limitations had run out. So, I mean, it’s all kind of crap like that that folk are digging up and in quest of something on you.”

Consistent with Vince McMahon, he thinks it’s theoretically okay to use the statute of limitations to omit a rape allegation as “crap…that folk are digging up” is kind of disturbing, at the very least to my ears.

In 2022, the year after Vince’s interview with Netflix, a New York law changed that temporarily allowed victims of sex crimes to file lawsuits which may possibly maybe have been otherwise forbidden by the statute of limitations. Chatterton sued McMahon, and Vince reportedly reached a multi-million dollar legal settlement with her by January 2023.
