New York: Co-hosts in the T20 World Cup 2024, USA were dealt with a heavy blow against India after captain Monank Patel was ruled out of the crucial game due to a niggle at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. Batter Aaron Jones is leading the side in Patel’s absence. Both India and USA have been unbeaten in the tournament so far. Whoever wins between India and USA, will confirm their spot in the Super 8 stage of the tournament.

“Monank has a niggle, should be back next game,” Jones said during the coin toss. Meanwhile, India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl.
