India vs Australia 2nd T20I: Rain lashes Thiruvananthapuram; weather report for matchday
India and Australia are set to lock horns in the second T20I in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, however, weather might be a cause for concern. It has been raining in Thiruvananthapuram leading up to the contest and more rain is forecast for Sunday. According to Accuweather, the forecast for 2pm on Sunday is “mostly cloudy with showers”, although the skies should be much clearer around match time, which starts at 7 pm.
However, the prompt start of the game would depend on how fierce the rain is and also given how much time it takes for the water at the Greenfield Stadium to drain.
A photo of a wet outfield of the stadium with the pitch being covered went viral on micro-blogging platform ‘X’.

India lead the five-match T20I series 1-0 following a nervy two-wicket win in the series opener in Vishakhapatnam on Thursday.
India’s bowlers had an off day as Josh Inglis led Australia to 208 in the first T20I with a 47-ball century. However, Suryakumar Yadav (80) and Ishan Kishan (58) scored fifties while Rinku Singh (22*) gave the finishing touch to guide the hosts to victory with just a ball to spare. Their 209-run chase was India’s highest successful run chase in T20Is.
