OUT! Coetzee breaks the third-wicket stand as Tilak departs after holing out to Jansen, probably the tallest individual at St George's Park today, stationed right in front of the third man boundary. He departs for a 20-ball 29 that contained four fours and a six in what was an audition for the No 3 spot for the T20 World Cup later this year. IND 55/3

“Average bounce in South Africa is 8cm more than what it is in India, but here at St George's Park it's not so much so India will be comfortable here. Lots of grass on the pitch today so that it can hold the surface together,” says Pommie Mbangwa in the pitch report.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the second T20I between India and South Africa at St George's Park in Gqeberha (formerly known as Port Elizabeth). The two sides start on level terms after the opening game of India's tour in Durban ended in a complete washout without the toss taking place. The winner of today's contest will ensure they'll have a hand on the trophy — whether by winning it entirely or sharing it with the other team.

India vs South Africa, 2nd T20I toss: South Africa won the toss and skipper Aiden Markram opted to field under overcast conditions at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on Tuesday.

The Proteas are without senior pacers Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje is yet to recover from an injury that had ruled him out of the recent ICC World Cup, and went with Marco Jansen, Gerald Coetzee and Lizaad Williams as their quicks along with all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo.

India, meanwhile, are without senior batter Shreyas Iyer for the second T20I, with Tilak Varma auditioning for the No 3 slot in his absence. Additionally, the Men in Blue have gone with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill as their openers with Ruturaj Gaikwad missing out, reportedly due to an unspecified illness.

As for the bowling department, left-arm spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav return to action after being rested for the Australia T20Is with leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi being benched. Additionally, Arshdeep Singh and Mukesh Kumar were included as the pacers alongside spearhead Mohammed Siraj.

India vs South Africa 2nd T20I preview: India face South Africa in the second of three T20Is in Gqeberha on Tuesday with the series level at 0-0 after the tour opener got washed out.

The first T20I was scheduled to take place at Durban’s Kingsmead on Sunday. Thanks to incessant rain though, the match got called off without the toss taking place.

Rain has also been forecast for Tuesday’s fixture at St George’s Park in Gqeberha, formerly known as Port Elizabeth. Should the second game also get called off, the third T20I in Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium effectively becomes a one-off shoot out to decide the series winner.
