DD: It’s a venue where the batters really enjoy. One of the reasons, the dimensions. Not a very big ground. Also the pitch during the day looks a bit aggressive, might grip a bit, which is why batting second will be preferred.

AA: Even though not a lot of one-dayers have been played here… might look on the drier side. Not a lot of grass. The cracks won’t go into play. One thing will come into play later is the dew. The team fielding second will have a tough time. Because of the pitch as it is and the dew coming in, chasing is the preferred option.

Jasprit Bumrah continues to wait for his international return. Team India will be hoping to kickstart “Mission 2023” on a winning note when they take on Sri Lanka in the first of three one-day internationals in Guwahati on Tuesday.
