Suryakumar Yadav speaks to the broadcasters ahead of the fourth T20I

"I think it was very satisfying as it came for the team’s victory, and that’s what’s more important. If the team’s winning, I’m happy. You’ve got to be honest with yourself, and everyone knows what’s happening around you. But at the same time, I’m not thinking too far ahead. (On partnership with Tilak Varma) I’ve really enjoyed batting with him and we share a very good bond off the field. That camaraderie is reflected on the field."

Captain speak:

Rovman Powell, West Indies captain: It looks like a good surface. I think it’s an opportunity for us to win against a big team like India. Guys aren’t excited about it. Jason Holder is in. Shai Hope comes in for Johnson Charles. Odean Smith replaces Roston Chase. Once we control what we can control, it will be okay.

Hardik Pandya, India skipper: We would have batted first as well. Looks like a good track. I don’t think much will change. Boys turned up pretty well. We’ll have to show more hunger. For us, it was about keeping the intensity and more hungry. Same team, no change. More than anything, I think our spinners have that wicket-taking knack and have the aggressive intent. For us, it’s going to be simple. Our intensity does not drop.

Samuel Badree analyses the pitch at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground:

“Bright and sunny here at Broward County. It’s a 65-metre hit with the wind. Down the ground, it’s in the mid-70s. The surface looks like an absolute beauty. No grass, but a nice sheen. The ball will come along nicely. Average score here is 165. I just think there will be lots of runs on offer and the batters will enjoy themselves. We are in for an exciting contest.”

Ravichandran Ashwin blasts West Indies board

"It’s not an easy place to tour for reasons like this. As a cricketer, one has to be switched on all the time and always expect the unexpected"

Ravichandran Ashwin hit out at Cricket West Indies (CWI) for poor preparations for India's tour after a delay in the third T20I due to the ground staff forgetting to put the markers for the 30-yard circle in place ahead of start of play. The senior off-spinner, who had featured in the two Tests at the start of the tour, had also pointed out poor cricketing infrastructure in the Caribbean region.

'My ODI numbers are very poor': SKY

Suryakumar Yadav was at his lethal best on Tuesday during the must-win game against the West Indies in Guyana, blasting a match-winning 83 off 44 deliveries to help India chase the 160-run target down in a canter.

Though there is little doubt over his status as a superstar of the game in the shortest format and his performances have helped elevate him to T20I vice-captaincy, his form in One-Day Internationals remain a concern. Especially in the build-up to the Asia Cup and the World Cup, in which SKY is a contender for a slot in the Indian middle order.

Central Broward Stadium history and statistics

The action shifts to Florida for the final weekend of India's ongoing tour of the Caribbean and the United States, with the fourth and fifth T20Is taking place in Lauderhill near Miami over the weekend.

India had made its debut at this venue all the way back in 2016, suffering a one-run defeat against the West Indies in a T20I game in which nearly 500 runs were scored and KL Rahul hit an unbeaten 110 in a losing cause. The Men in Blue though, have largely had a winning run at this venue after getting off to a rough start.

Ahead of the fourth T20I, we revisit Lauderhill's cricketing history as well as some key statistics pertaining to the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground.

Amid constant chopping and changing and experimentations, India batters have struggled to get going in the ongoing five-match T20I series against the West Indies in which the Men in Blue trail 1-2 after three games. The challenge for Hardik Pandya and Co is only going to become tougher as the cricket bandwagon moves from Guyana to the USA

Preview: Adaptability the key for India at high-scoring Lauderhill

18:33 (IST)

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the fourth T20I between India and the West Indies at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida with the Men in Blue eyeing a series-leveling victory today.

With the Tests, ODIs and the first three T20Is having taken place in the Caribbean, the two teams travel to the United States where India's ongoing tour boils down to its final weekend. And with momentum in their favour following their clinical seven-wicket victory in Guyana on Tuesday, the Men in Blue will hope to take the series to a decider on Sunday.

India vs West Indies, 4th T20I preview: India’s tour of the Caribbean and the United States is nearing its conclusion, with the Men in Blue’s trip to the Western Hemisphere set to conclude over the coming weekend.

After dominating both Tests and winning the series 1-0 and taking the ODIs 2-1, India were served a rude wake-up call by the West Indies in the T20I leg of their tour, suffering narrow defeats in each of the first two games.

The Rovman Powell-led hosts would’ve been hoping to clinch the series with two games to spare when the Men in Blue bounced back in style, chasing down a target of 160 with seven wickets and more than two overs to spare thanks to Suryakumar Yadav’s (83) brilliance along with quality performances from Tilak Varma (49 not out) and Kuldeep Yadav (3/28).

Thanks to their performance at Providence Stadium in Georgetown, Guyana on Tuesday, not only are the Indians still alive in the five-match series, they might actually be considered favourites heading into the fourth game despite still trailing 1-2 in the series.

The Indian batting unit, after all, managed to click as a unit earlier this week, and the Hardik Pandya-led side will be confident of carrying the momentum gained from the victory over to the business end of the tour.

The two teams will be heading into the fourth T20I after a gap of three days as the action shifts from South to North America, with the remaining matches taking place in Florida in the United States of America.
