Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Shubman Gill became the new owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Orange Cap after smashing a scintillating 49-ball century against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad.

Gill, who has now scored three centuries in his last four outings in the ongoing season, went past Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Faf du Plessis to move to the top of the IPL 2023 batting leaderboard.

Du Plessis’ opening partner Virat Kohli is third on the list with 639 runs at an average of 53.25. Rajasthan Royals’ Yashasvi Jaiswal (625) and Chennai Super Kings’ Devon Conway (625) sit at the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
