MI and DC were the only remaining teams without a win ahead of the match, with the five-time champions prevailing in yet another match that went down the wire. Delhi, meanwhile, remained at the bottom of the table after a fourth consecutive defeat that has already made their hopes of making the playoffs appear next to impossible.

Mumbai, on the other hand, went past Sunrisers Hyderabad, who collected their first win of the season with an eight-wicket win over Punjab Kings on Sunday, to the eighth spot.

The table is currently led by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) who jumped to the top with a thrilling one-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Bengaluru on Monday.

Chasing a stiff 213 to win, Lucknow rode on scintillating fifties from Nicholas Pooran (62 off 19) and Marcus Stoinis (65 off 30) along with a valuable contribution from Ayush Badoni (30 off 24) to bounce back after losing wickets in a heap at the outset.

LSG held their nerve despite a late fightback from RCB to go over the finish line on the last ball with a wicket to spare, and collect their third win in four games.

As many as five teams — Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, defending champions Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings — are locked on four points, with RR having the best Net Run Rate (+2.067) of the lot that has put them at the second spot.

Here’s a look at the updated IPL 2023 points table after SRH vs LSG game:
