IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange and Purple Cap list: RCB move to seventh; PBKS jump to fourth with win over LSG
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) moved up a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table after beating Delhi Capitals by 23 runs on Saturday. The comfortable defence of a 175 run target ensured RCB won their second match in four played. DC, meanwhile, have now suffered five straight defeats to remain without points this season.

At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Virat Kohli struck a 33-ball fifty in RCB’s only bright spark with the bat. Twenty-something run contributions from Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror and Shahbaz Ahmed took them to 174 runs.
In reply, DC lost four wickets in the powerplay overs, including that of David Warner, and never recovered from it. Manish Pandey’s 37-ball fifty was the only bright spot in Delhi’s timid chase.
In the second game of the day, Sikandar Raza (57) and Shahrukh Khan (23*) scripted a tense chase for Punjab Kings over Lucknow Super Giants.
Having been asked to bat first, LSG were restricted to 159/8 after Sam Curran’s three wickets, while KL Rahul registered his first fifty of the season.
In reply, despite wickets at regular intervals, Raza and Shahrukh ensured PBKS crossed the finish line with three balls to spare.
Four teams are currently on four points – Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The table is currently led by last year’s runners-up Rajasthan Royals, who are tied on six points with Lucknow Super Giants and defending champions Gujarat Titans.
Punjab Kings climbed to fourth spot, with six points after their win over LSG.
