All-rounder Hardik Pandya was on Monday traded to Mumbai Indians (MI) from Gujarat Titans (GT) ahead of the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) 2024 season.

In order for this transfer to go through, MI had to release Australian Cameron Green to the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Hardik returns to MI after spending two seasons at GT, where he led them to their maiden title in their inaugural season in 2022.

We take a look at Hardik Pandya’s top moments with Mumbai Indians:

21* off 8 balls vs CSK (IPL 2015)

Back in IPL 2015, Hardik Pandya first made his mark on mainstream cricket fans. He was still a rookie trying to find his feet, but then found his moment against the Chennai Super Kings.

His first match-winning performance for MI came on May 8, 2015 when he walked out at 125/4 in the 18th over. He then went on to lace three sixes off Pawan Negi in the 19th over and clinched a key win with his powerful innings of 21 off eight balls.

3/20 vs CSK, Mumbai, April 3, 2019

It was the perfect all-round performance and once again, it came against CSK at Wankhede Stadium back in IPL 2019. He first scored a quickfire 25* off eight balls, featuring a boundary and three sixes.

He then stepped up with the ball and picked up impressive figures of 3/20, dismissing MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Deepak Chahar, restricting Chennai to 133/8 in their reply.

91 off 34 balls vs KKR (IPL 2019)

Hardik Pandya played perhaps his finest IPL innings on 28 April, 2019, against KKR at the Eden Gardens. Batting first, KKR scored 232/2, with notable contributions from Shubman Gill, Chris Lynn, and Andre Russell.

In the chase, Mumbai was reduced to 58-4 in the ninth over. This was when Hardik stepped up and smashed smashed six boundaries and nine sixes, amassing 91 runs off just 34 balls before getting dismissed in the 18th over and Mumbai lost the game by 34 runs.

37* vs. Delhi Capitals, IPL 2020

Hardik Pandya has made a habit of stepping up and delivering match-winning performances in playoff matches for his teams. In the 2020 Qualifier 1 clash between the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals, he smashed 37* off 14 balls as Mumbai registered a commanding 57-run victory.

61 off 31 balls vs KKR, (IPL 2015)

Batting first, Mumbai Indians was in a lot of trouble at 79/4 in 11.4 overs on a challenging Wankhede Stadium pitch. Hardik Pandya, still in his debut IPL season, excelled as he smashed 61* runs off 31 balls, featuring eight fours and two sixes at a strike-rate of 196.77. He took MI to 171/4 in 20 overs even as Kieron Pollard struggled to 33* runs off 38 balls,

MI clinched the victory by a narrow margin of five runs.
