Karan Johar Calls Out ‘Madness Machayenge’ and Kettan Singh for Poor Portrayal, Comedian Issues Apology

Filmmaker Karan Johar recently expressed his disappointment with the way he was portrayed on the comedy show Madness Machayenge – India Ko Hasayenge. He also criticised comedian Kettan Singh for portraying him in poor taste. Johar took to Instagram Stories to share his frustration after seeing a promo of the show while watching television with his mother. He described the mimicry of him on the “supposedly respectable channel” as being done in “exceptionally poor taste.” Johar expressed sadness rather than anger, stating that he expects such behaviour from anonymous trolls but not from people within the industry, especially considering his long tenure of over 25 years.

Karan Johar’s note read, “I was sitting and watching television with my mom… and saw a promo of a reality comedy show on a supposedly respectable channel… a comic was mimicking me in exceptionally poor taste… I expect this from trolls and faceless and nameless people but when your own industry can disrespect someone who has been in the business for over 25 years it speaks volumes about the times we live in… this doesn’t even anger me it just makes me sad!” (sic)

Following Johar’s statement, Times Now/Telly Talk India reached out to Kettan Singh for his response. In an exclusive conversation, Singh apologised to Johar for any offense caused. He explained that his impersonation of Johar was inspired by watching him on talk shows and being a fan of his work. Singh expressed his admiration for Johar’s latest film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and clarified that his intention was to entertain the audience rather than hurt anyone.

Kettan Singh said, “I would like to apologise to Karan (Johar) sir. First of all, whatever impersonation I do because I watch a lot of Karan Johar on the coffee show, I am a fan of his work. I have seen his latest film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani 5 to 6 times. I am a huge fan of his work and his show. If my actions hurt him, I would like to apologise to him. My intention was not to hurt him. I just wanted to entertain audience but if I did something extra, I would like to say sorry to him.”
