Koffee with Karan 8: Karan Johar jokes to Rani Mukerji and Kajol how he brought his father Yash Johar on the road
The latest season of Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan 8 has kickstarted, hosting a series of stars on the couch. After welcoming co-actors and real-life buddies Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra on the show, the ace filmmaker is now set to welcome the leading actresses of their time, Rani Mukerji and Kajol in the upcoming episode.
The dynamic duo, also cousins by relation have featured together in a couple of hit films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Now their appearance promises to add a lot more entertainment to this season.
A promo of the upcoming episode has been also released, giving a glimpse into the super-entertaining episode as Kajol and Rani playfully tease Karan Johar, while also recalling a few moments from their films.
Rani-Kajol’s hilarious banter with Karan Johar on KWK 8
As the promo opens with Karan Johar sharing deets from the shooting days of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Rani Mukerji jokingly says that she wants to expose him, leaving Kajol to get more excited. “I like this show already,” the Dilwale actress said.
The video then shifts to show the filmmaker welcoming his first leading ladies on the couch.
Recalling a hilarious incident from the days of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Karan Johar said, “I remember my father standing outside the Mehboob Studios, on the road talking. Sanjay Dutt said, ‘Yash Ji, what are you doing here?’ and he said. My son has set up a stage and now I am on the road.”
Further, Rani goes on to reveal how Karan Johar used to steal her food and hit her, while Kajol mocked the duo by calling it an “abuse.”
Later, as they got into the rapid-fire round talking about their film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kajol can be seen staging a fake walkout, adding more to the hilarious situation.
“We’ve hit the button hard enough to bring my first leading ladies – Kajol & Rani back on the Koffee couch & it’s nostalgia in the purest form!!!!”, the caption of the promo read.
The episode will go on air on 30 November 2023.
Notably, this is not the first time that Rani and Kajol have appeared on the show. Earlier, they graced the couch with their Kuch Kuch Hota Hai co-actor Shah Rukh Khan in the second season of Koffee with Karan.
