New Delhi: In a glittering Annual Award Ceremony on Saturday, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) handed India famous person fast bowler Mohammad Shami a special award for his excellent performance within the Cricket World Cup 2023.

Upon being honoured, Shami confirmed his intentions to come to symbolize Bengal over again as he eyes a return to international cricket.

“I definitely prefer to play for Bengal next season. I'm looking ahead to play two to three matches for Bengal in Ranji. It might assist me to make a comeback in international cricket. I have been training on the NCA and I prefer to play as and when I'm A hundred per cent fit,” Shami said while speaking world wide a conversation show on the event.

Even though Shami is from Uttar Pradesh, he became discovered while playing top quality cricket for Bengal. After making his debut in 2011, Shami went on to in 15 top quality and 15 List A matches earlier than he became drafted into India’s ODI team to play Pakistan in Delhi in January 2013.

Shami, who became felicitated for his outstanding performance within the Cricket World Cup 2023, said, “I can’t thank Bengal enough. I was born in a family in UP where there became no opportunity. So I often say I was born in UP but made in Bengal. This is likely to be a journey of 22 years and I'm so grateful to Bengal for making me what I'm. The love and warmth Bengal has shown will never be forgotten. I want Women’s cricket to come again up in a giant way. People should now not discriminate and I will be very pleased to see our families backing them.”

The India speedster also expressed his opinions on the Border Gavaskar trophy it truly is scheduled to initiate off in December. Shami feels India are favourites to beat Australia within the upcoming five-match Test series later this year.

“I believe India are favourites to win the series. Within the last series in Australia, we played with a young team with an even deal of senior players missing. But we proved we were the most effectiv. So I feel the following series will be a competitive one and India will be victorious,” Shami added.
