Najmul Shanto REVEALS Reason For Bangladesh’s Humiliating Loss vs United States of America

Houston: Bangladesh were expected to bounce back with a win on Thursday against the United States of America after they lost the first game, but that did not happen. The United States of America beat Bangladesh by six runs to clinch the three-match T20I series by taking a 2-0 unassailable lead. Following the loss, Bangladesh captain Najmul Shanto admitted that it is very disappointing. He also went onto give a possible reason as to why he thought they lost the game. Najmul reckoned losing too many wickets in the middle overs was the reason for the loss.

“Very disappointing for us. We lost wickets in the middle overs, that was the reason why we lost. We didn’t play well, but we have an opportunity to come up with a good plan in the next match. We should change our mindset, it’s not about our skills,” Najmul said at the post-match presentation.

Chasing 145, Bangladesh were shot out for 138 in 19.3 overs, as Ali Khan returned with figures of 3/25 for USA. Saurabh Netravalkar and Shadley van Schalkwyk bagged two wickets each. Meanwhile, Najmul Hossain Shanto registered 36 off 34 balls.

Initially, USA posted 144/6 in 20 overs as Monank Patel top-scored with 42 off 38 balls. Meanwhile, Rishad Hossain, Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman bagged two wickets apiece.

Now that Bangladesh has conceded the series, they would look for a consolation win in the third and final T20I just to get some much-needed confidence back in the dressing-room. The third and final T20I takes place on Saturday and Bangladesh would love to win it.
