Impressing everyone with his mind-boggling performances at the World Cup, New Zealand opener Rachin Ravindra has emerged as one of the rising stars of the game. He recently won the ICC Player of the Month Award as well. Riding on the back of his sensational World Cup campaign, Ravindra has succeeded in setting some incredible records as well. Amidst all the praises from fans, experts and former cricketers, the 23-year-old reportedly visited his grandparents’ home in Bengaluru during the World Cup. He was seen taking his grandmother’s blessings.

A video of Ravindra at his grandparents’ place, went viral on social media platform X, formerly Twitter. The video shows Rachin sitting on the couch, while a senior lady who reportedly is his grandmother performs a traditional ritual, seemingly to ward off any kind of evil or negativity.

Rachin was born to Indian parents in Wellington. His parents originally hail from Bengaluru and moved to New Zealand in the 1990s.

In the 2023 World Cup, he scored 578 runs with three centuries in 10 matches and finished as the fourth-highest run-getter. New Zealand’s World Cup campaign ended with a defeat to India in the semi-finals.
