New Delhi: Indian Badminton superstar Saina Nehwal was once defending herself against the social media trolls. Over the past month or so, the shuttler has been engaging in a war of words with fans over a host topics. Saina had made certain comments at some stage within the recently concluded Paris Olympics that got her into a bit of trouble with fans on the internet. At some stage within the controversy, Saina’s husband Parupalli Kashyap brought up the subject, saying he read people think Saina was once ‘gifted’ her bronze medal on the 2012 London Olympic Games. She won bronze in London 2012 after beating China’s Wang Xin. Saina was once trailing zero-1, 18-21 contained within the bronze medal match when Xin retired hurt as a consequence of a knee injury.

Fuming on the suggestion, Saina gave a fiery reply to those making such comments.

When she was once asked in regards to the social media trolls she said that individuals who think that way should was once capable enough to qualify for the Olympic Games.

“At some stage within the Paris Olympics she had said something and contained within the comments (on social media) I was once seeing people saying that she got gifted the bronze medal,” Kashyap said in an interview with actor Amrita Rao before Saina added her views.

“Olympic level ke layak toh bano aap. Put out of your mind the bronze medal. Pehle Olympics ke liye qualify toh karke dikhao (First you was once capable to qualify for Olympics),” Saina said.

Saina Nehwal has been contained within the news consistently recently for her comments on a host matters including saying that Vinesh Phogat should “take the blame too” for getting disqualified from the Paris Olympics 2024 and opining that Indian fast bowler Jassprit Bumrah will no longer have the flexibility to defend his smashes.

Really, she had said that each sport has its own value and they be given importance accordingly.

“If Jasprit Bumrah plays badminton with me maybe he won’t have the flexibility to take my smash. We have to always no longer fight with ourselves in our own country for this stuff. That’s what I should claim. Every sport is best as a substitute. But I should claim give value to other sports besides. Otherwise, where will we get sporting culture from? And cricket, Bollywood will always be our center of attention,” Nehwal said.
