‘Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli are considered the Gods of cricket’, Says India pacer Akash Deep

New Delhi: Akash Deep has all praise for India skipper Rohit Sharma. The young right-arm pacer, who has made an impact right through both Tests he’s played so a ways, credited Rohit for making a peaceful atmosphere right all through the Indian dressing room and thus making his transition from domestic to international cricket very smooth and seamless.

The 27-year-old, who had claimed a 3-wicket haul in his Test debut against England earlier this year in Ranchi, became picked as the 1/3 seamer for the opener of the series at Chennai, where he did beautifully. Akash Deep came out as a discovery of sparkle with two quick wickets off new ball in Bangladesh’s first innings.

Previous to the second test, Akash thanked Indian legends like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for guiding him to the most effective path.

“When I came here, I witnessed a distinct level of dedication and labor from the players who're legends of the sport, and thought in regards to the gods of cricket like Rohit, Virat bhai,” Akash told reporters in Kanpur.

“I realised that they've achieved most and are still working so not easy all through training. Their thought process is at a distinct level, this motivates me to work even more demanding.”

Akash has faced significant challenges in his personal life, having lost his father and brother within a span of two months. These demanding experiences have likely contributed to his mental resilience, an exceptionally important trait for managing the pressures of international cricket.

He noted that the simple working sort of skipper Rohit Sharma made his transition to the Indian team a lot easier.

“I had hesitation to initiate with that there would be pressure, but Rohit bhaiya made things so straight forward. I haven’t played under such a supportive captain. He keeps things straight forward, I never felt whether I'm playing domestic or international cricket.”The pacer from Bengal has loads of clarity in his thought process and says that thoughts of the very long time do now no longer bother him and living right all through the present is his guiding mantra.

“Around the globe the last two years, I in fact have played loads of cricket. It’s now no longer only a 3-month season for us. Even after Ranji, you play Duleep Trophy, Irani Cup. As a player, you may like to contemplate yourself and know your strengths,” he said.

“After we play at this level, we must always now no longer get confused that I played a certain style at that level (Ranji) and things are different here. I don’t put an excessive amount of pressure that I should go to Australia and all that. I are living right all through the present. It remains straight forward for me.”Akash said he's prepared for the challenges upfront, having undergone the rigours of domestic circuit.

“The domestic format is so good that by the purpose you reach this stage, you realize what to do. You consider what you're expected to do. There also may be no confusion as such. The premise is to place your learning into practice. I don’t find something new in it.”
