Salman Khan Murder Plan: Mumbai Police Arrest Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Members, Planned To Attack Actor In Panvel

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has uncovered another plan to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the city. Police have arrested four people Lawrence Bishnoi‘s gang, who according to cops, had planned to attack Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s car in Panvel. The attackers were armed with lethal weapons sourced from a Pakistani arms supplier, news agency ANI reported citing sources.

The Navi Mumbai Police have lodged an FIR against 17 people including Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra, Goldy Brar and started an investigating. Notably, this conspiracy to attack the actor follows another incident on April 14, when two bike-borne men opened fire outside the Bollywood actor’s house in Bandra.

The arrested accused were identified as Dhananjay alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna and Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan.

Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and associate Goldie Brar, had reportedly acquired AK-47s, M-16s, and other lethal weapons from a Pakistani arms dealer. They planned to ambush Salman Khan’s vehicle or attack his farmhouse, NDTV reported citing sources.

Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra became a crime scene when gunshots echoed outside. The local police sprung into action, foiling the incident by nabbing four individuals involved. Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal were picked up in Gujarat, while Anuj Thapan, along with an unnamed accomplice, were cornered in Punjab on April 26. In the wake of these events, the total count of people put behind bars became six. Unfortunately, Anuj Thapan’s journey ended prematurely as he succumbed while in police’s clutches.

Thapan’s mother, Rita Devi, filed a petition on May 3, alleging that her son was physically assaulted and tortured in police custody, leading to his death on May 1 in a Mumbai crime branch lock-up. While the police maintain that Thapan died by suicide, Ms Devi’s petition calls for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the incident.

Rita Devi, Thapan’s mother, approached the authorities with a plea on May 3rd. She believes her son was brutalized while in the police’s custody, ending in his premature demise on May 1st at the hands of Mumbai’s Crime Branch. The police defend their actions by calling Thapan’s death self-inflicted. However, Ms. Devi’s plea strongly appeals for a thorough probe into her son’s death by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
