Shah Rukh Khan becomes the only actor of Hindi cinema to collect Rs 2500 crore gross in a single year

Shah Rukh Khan returned to the big screen after a gap of over four years with Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan in January last year. It collected more than Rs 500 crore at the box-office and gave Khan a much-needed blockbuster. He followed it up with a bigger juggernaut called Jawan that went on to enter the Rs 600 crore at the ticket windows.

His last release of the year Dunki, which was directed by Rajkumar Hirani, may not have been a blazing success but is on its way to becoming a hit. It should enter the Rs 200 crore club in the coming weeks due to lack of major competition.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki features actors Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, and Boman Irani among others in prominent roles. The film revolves around the story of a group of friends, who use a backdoor to go to a foreign country, however, end up struggling to return.

Owing to the three hits he has had, SRK has become the only actor of Hindi cinema to collects a staggering Rs 2500 crore gross in a single year. The news was shared by trade analyst Ramesh Bala:
