Shah Rukh Khan’s 2012 Wankhede Outburst Resurfaces Online; Ex-KKR Official Reveals Why Actor Lost His Calm

It has been more than a decade since people across the nation witnessed another side of Shah Rukh Khan during the 2012 IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. King Khan was involved in an ugly spat with security staff and officials of the cricket body and was even banned for five years from entering MCA premises, including the Wankhede Stadium. Now, once again, the matter has cropped up in the public limelight as the former support staff of KKR spilled the beans on what exactly happened that night.

Why Did Shah Rukh Khan Lose His Calm?

As Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) prepares to take on Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, the talk of the upcoming match naturally resurfaced. Joy Bhattacharjya shared his thoughts on the match on Friday through X, stating, “The last time KKR beat MI at the Wankhede, I was still a part of that dugout. It’s been a while, but today might just be the day!”

Responding to Joy’s tweet, a user said that KKR has been ‘cursed‘ ever since SRK ‘abused‘ the security guard. Later, Joy clarified about the incident and said that Shah Rukh’s reaction was the reaction of a father whose daughter (Suhana Khan) was catcalled at the stadium. He wrote, “KKR won two championships after that incident. And he did not abuse me, I was there. And the next time, stay calm when someone catcalls your young daughter.”

Shah Rukh Khan Explained His Side of the Story For Losing His Calm

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan also explained his side of the story and the reason he lost his cool. The actor revealed that he was triggered by a word used by the religious security staff, and it made the actor extremely angry.

During an appearance with Aap Ki Adalat, the actor said, “My kids were there, and I thought someone. Maybe they had a rule, that hatao yaha se. I told him, these are our kids, and we are taking them. I just said this. There was a person there who said a word that I, as a Delhi person, felt like it was an abusive word. Even though the same word in Marathi is also rude. Thoda sa religious, galat tha woh (It was religious, it was wrong). I then lost my cool, main pagal hogaya and I went to hit him.
