Shakti Kapoor on Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' success: 'I wish Rishi Kapoor was alive to see...'

Ranbir Kapoor is presently basking in the success of his highly-anticipated film Animal. The film recently hit theatres and has been ruling since then at the box office, despite facing its share of criticism.

Ranbir Kapoor has also received a lot of appreciation for his performance as he portrays a violent and maniacal character. Not just fans, but celebrities have also reviewed the films and shared their views, commending both Ranbir and Bobby Deol’s performances. In the recent one, actor Shakti Kapoor, who also plays a prominent role in the film heaped praise on Ranbir Kapoor.

In his recent interaction with ETimes, the veteran actor also noted that he wishes Rishi Kapoor was alive to witness Ranbir’s performance and success.

‘I wish Chintu was alive to see his son…’ says Shakti Kapoor

Shakti Kapoor who was a close friend of Rishi Kapoor began by talking about the late actor’s relationship with his son. Noting that Rishi Kapoor, affectionately known as ‘Chintu’, was born a day after him, he added that the bond between the father and son was fantastic and they had a strong love for each other.

“Their families were close and even during their children’s younger days, they went on winter holidays together. I only wish Chintu was alive to witness the success his son has achieved. I proudly call his son one of the best actors in the industry,” Shakti Kapoor said.

Talking about the success of the film, the Animal actor responded by saying that it feels “incredible”, adding that even he had a strong belief from the very beginning that the film would be a massive success.

“I found the script exceptionally good and of course, we got some of the finest actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and of course Shakti Kapoor. It’s got energy,” he said while laughing it out.

Celebrities praise Animal

Notably, Shakti Kapoor is not the only one who has all the praises for Ranbir Kapoor. Recently, legendary actor Prem Chopra also praised Ranbir’s performance, stating that he was “tremendous” and that his role in the film was “difficult and complicated.” Apart from that, many others including Nani, SS Karthikeya, the son of SS Rajamouli, Allu Arjun, and Alia Bhatt also commended Ranbir’s outstanding comments in the film.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the crime film revolves around the dynamics of a father-son relationship, followed by a complex story filled with violence and conflicts.
