A sea of fans gathered outside the airport to give the victorious team a rousing welcome. In the video clips shared by news agency ANI, fans can be seen holding placards congratulating the players. They showed their joy by waving the national flag and chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

Special Blue Jersey

The Rajasthan Royals captain shared a photo of the specially-designed jersey earlier in the day. The Jersey has ‘Champions’ written on it just below INDIA. The team might wear the specially-designed jersey during the open-top bus parade in Mumbai later in the day. Sanju Samson has recently posted a picture that depicts the Indian team cricket jersey, now adorned with an extra star symbolizing the country’s second triumph at the T20 World Cup. Hence, this star is a prestigious addition to the BCCI emblem. The Indian squad initially took home the trophy back in 2007 under the skilled leadership of MS Dhoni. Also, the jersey now proudly sports the word ‘champions,’ a testament to their victorious endeavours.

Team India’s Arrival

Rohit Sharma, T20 World Cup trophy in hand, made a grand arrival at the airport to the resounding cheers of a swarm of fans clamoring for their beloved Virat Kohli. No stranger to joviality, he, along with Suryakumar Yadav tapped their feet to the rhythmic beats of a playful dhol. The party unfurled at the team’s hotel, home to a festive cake-cutting ceremony.

The skipper Rohit Sharma-led squad in the nail-biting match and won the clinching trophy. Notably, the country won its second T20 world title, ending an 11-year wait.

The Air India special charter flight AIC24WC took off from Barbados around 4:50am on Wednesday and arrived in Delhi around 6am (IST) today.

The Indian team, players’ families, and some board officials are all aboard the flight.

The Men in Blue secured the crown, marking India’s fourth overall World Cup, with a thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa in the final on June 29.

Sadly, the team had to extend their stay and were unable to return home due to a shutdown caused by Hurricane Beryl.

Rohit Sharma and his team are scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence today.

After meeting PM Modi, the T20 World Cup 2024 champs will fly to Mumbai and take part in the open bus victory parade. The parade will be followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium.
