Another weekend of sporting extravaganza beckons, with the 2023 Cricket World Cup approaching its business end, whereas in football the Premier League action continues Manchester United taking on Fulham on Saturday evening.

Let’s now take a look at the major sporting events lined up for evening:

Cricket

ICC Cricket World Cup (Star Sports): The 2023 ODI World Cup continues, with the penultimate week of league stage matches. India take on South Africa on Sunday.

But before that, New Zealand are currently facing Pakistan in the double header on Saturday, with Australia vs England (2 pm IST) set to begin in the afternoon.

India have already qualified for the semi-finals, so only three spots remain to be filled. Pakistan, meanwhile, will all but be knocked out should they lose to New Zealand on Saturday.

WBBL (Sony Sports Network/Fancode): The Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) action continues in Australia with double headers on both Saturday and Sunday. While Sydney Thunder defeated Melbourne Stars by nine wickets in Saturday’s first game, the second game is about to get underway with Brisbane Heat opting to field against Hobart Hurricanes.

On Sunday, Sydney Sixers will take on Melbourne Renegades in Perth, and that will be followed by Perth Scorchers taking on Adelaide Strikers at the same ground.

Football

European Club Football: Premier League favourites Arsenal meet Newcastle United at St James Park on Saturday night. In the early kick off on Saturday, Fulham will host Manchester United at Craven Cottage, whereas Manchester City welcome AFC Bournemouth to the Etihad Stadium the same day.

In Italian Serie A, the headline clash will be Fiorentina taking on Juventus, whereas AC Milan host Udinese.
