Stone-Pelting At Ganesh Pandal In Surat Sparks Communal Tensions, Several Arrested

Surat: Tension prevailed in Surat city after some youths threw stones at a Ganesh pandal in the Sayedpura area in the early hours of Monday. The stone-pelting incident escalated, and a clash broke out in the area. Heavy security became deployed to bring the location less than keep an eye on. Reacting to the incident, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi stated that six people pelted stones at a Ganesh Pandal and all of them were arrested. He said that police have also arrested 27 those who were occupied with encouraging the incident.

“In the Sayedpura area of Surat, 6 people pelted stone on the Ganesh Pandal…All these 6 people were arrested and the police have also arrested the opposite 27 those who were occupied with encouraging such an incident… The investigation is underway.
