Taylor Swift's security guard from her Eras Tour flies back to home-country Israel amid the Israel-Hamas war

Amid the on-going Israel-Hamas war, Taylor Swift’s security guard from her Eras Tour has flown back to his home-country Israel to join the Israel army and fight against Hamas. He left the United States after the first strikes took place.

Statement to Variety

He said, “I got a pretty great life back in the US. I got an amazing dream job that I love, great friends that I call family and a very comfortable home. I didn’t HAVE to come here… But I could not stand on the sidelines while families were being slaughtered and burned alive in their homes!!! Just for being Jewish or for being Israelis.”

Since Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel, and the situation continues to be tense on both sides of the border. As the war continues, hundreds of people have lost their lives, and the horrific photos and videos of innocent Israeli and Palestinian people continue to emerge online.

The celebrities that have condemned the violence so far are Gal Gadot, Gigi Hadid, and more recently, Riz Ahmed.

Ahmed requested on social media calling for “an end to the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza’s civilians” amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

“We are told there are two sides to what is happening in Israel and Palestine. But in my heart, I know there is only one — the side of our humanity,” the Oscar-nominated actor wrote. “What happened in Israel last week was horrific and wrong. The pain and fear so many are feeling is deep and real. What’s happening in Gaza now, and has been happening in Palestine under the Occupation for decades, is horrific and wrong. The depth and reality of this suffering cannot be ignored.”
