The wait is almost over as one of the most anticipated movies, Beetlejuice 2, the sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 classic film finally has an official title along with its release date. Warner Bros. Pictures on Thursday took to its official social media handle and announced the film title i.e., ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ and the release date. Stating that the film will come out on September 6, post-Labor Day, makers also shared a very unique poster of the film.

The poster shows the spooky pair of hands, holding a roll of white ribbon bearing different numbers. Centred in the poster is a green text that reads the release date of the film – 09,06,24.


One could also spot the title of the film right at the bottom of the

poster reading, ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’. “The wait is almost all over,” the poster includes the text along with the caption, “Dare you to say it again. #Beetlejuice #Beetlejuice – Only in theatres September 6.”

The sequel comes almost three decades after the OG film hit theatres in 1988, becoming an instant critical and commercial hit. The film follows the story of a recently deceived couple Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara Maitland (Geena Davis) who summon the undead exorcist Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton) to scare off the family who moves into their homes after their deaths.

While fans had been eagerly waiting for the film’s sequel for several years, director Tim Burton in November last year shared an update, confirming that the shooting of the film had been completed.

Beetlejuice 2 cast and shooting

While the sequel reunites with the original cast members including Keaton along with Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hoara, joining this time around are actors like Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux.

While Keaton will be reprising his role as the green-haired, boisterous ghost from the world of the dead, Winona and Catherine will be back as Lydia Deetz and Delia Deetz.

The film’s shooting originally began in May 2023, however, it got delayed months after the Screen Actors Guild went on strike in July. The makers resumed the shooting, further concluding it in November 2023.
