He is the man who with his display of nuanced craft can make you laugh and cry at the same time. No doubt, the film which is now streaming on OTT has miraculously topped IMDb charts. When Indian cinema was thriving on ugly machoism, Vikrant Massey did an honest performance of a hardworking village boy and stole our hearts.
Inspirational story
It’s a true story of an underdog, IPS officer Manoj Sharma which gives hope to millions of viewers. A boy coming from an extremely humble background, who studied in a village and makes it to becoming an IPS officer. His struggles are lessons that many of us coming from a comparatively privileged can learn from. True to its purpose, 12th Fail shows how from being a dog walker, a toilet cleaner to sleeping on the streets, Manoj Kumar Sharma, the real IPS officer has done it all to achieve his dream.
Nobody knows his craft the way Vidhu Vinod Chopra does. An honest depiction of an underdog, he made sure that 12th Fail is done with the intention of the youth getting inspired. Truly a film that needs to be watched again and again.
