India are set to lock horns against Australia in the final of the Cricket World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (19 November).

According to a report in News18 CricketNext, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the title clash, and will be the chief guest of the event.

Former India captains MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev are also likely to attend the final.

Several entertainment programmes have been planned for the spectators at the venue, whereas a special air show will also be conducted.

Prominent Albanian singer Dua Lipa, music composer Pritam Chakraborty and playback singer Aditya Gadhavi will be performing on the day of the final.

The report goes onto add that families of all India cricketers will be watching from the standings, whereas Hardik Pandya, who was ruled out of the World Cup with an injury, is also likely to witness the game.

Sachin Tendulkar will also be attending the contest.

Apart from politicians, former cricketers and cricketers’ families, the top brass of the BCCI and ICC will also be attending the summit clash.

While India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi-final in Mumbai, it was not easy for Australia as they battled past South Africa by three wickets in the second semi-final in Kolkata.

India are yet to win a major ICC trophy since winning the 2013 Champions Trophy in England.
