'You can't improvise...', Manoj Bajpayee on his experience of working with Amitabh Bachchan

One of the most talented, versatile, and senior most actors in the industry, Amitabh Bachchan who is no less than a legend works by some of his own principles that are very hard to change. One such instance was recently shared by actor Manoj Bajpayee who has had the opportunity of working with the legendary actor on several occasions. In a recent interview, The Family Man actor shared that Big B believes in rehearsing his lines strictly in advance and can only improvise if you know his lines perfectly.

In an interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Manoj Bajpayee recalled a time when he worked with Big B, adding that Amit ji rehearses quite diligently and is very strict with his work. The actor also added that one cannot easily mess with his cues, especially when they are improvising.

Sharing an incident from a film in which they worked together, Bajpayee recounted when Big B had confronted him for making a slight change. “Have you changed something?”, Bachchan asked, to which Manoj said, “I don’t know.”

It was then that the veteran actor was convinced about some change and he immediately called someone over and got the scene checked again. In line with this, Bajpayee added, “With Amit ji, one cannot improvise. You can do whatever you want, but you have to give him cues. After working with him, I have learned that Big B likes to rehearse a lot.”

For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Bajpayee have worked together in films like Aks, Aarakshan, Satyagraha, and Sarkar 3. The actor also recalled how Mr Bachchan was among the first people who congratulated him on the success of his 1998 film Satya.

Manoj Bajpayee was Bajpayee was last seen in the chase thriller ‘Joram.’ Besides that, he also had two other releases on OTT with Disney+Hotstar’s Gulmohar and Zee5’s Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.
