After Raveena Tandon, Farah Khan likes a review mocking actors of Netflix's 'The Archies'

Zoya Akhtar’s latest directorial The Archies released on December 7 on Netflix after much anticipation. The director has added a desi twist to the popular comics to present it as a film that features several star kids Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, and Suhana Khan alongside a few other newbies such as Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Saigal, and Yuvraj Menda.

Notably, the film faced a lot of criticism and trolling on social media while a section of people also praised the performances of these star kids. Amid this, director Farah Khan caught everyone’s attention as she liked a ‘review’ video of the film mocking the actors for their performances.

The instance of Farah Khan liking the Instagram reel that trolled the star kids and the film led netizens to believe that Farah endorsed the post. Reportedly, Farah Khan did not attend the premiere of The Archies, which was a starry affair. Additionally, unlike other celebrities, she did not even post any congratulatory messages for either the director or the actors in the film.

The Archies is a coming-of-age musical drama based on well-known characters from the comic book. It explores the lives of Veronica Lodge, Betty Cooper, and Archie Andrew played by Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda respectively who live in Riverdale. The film also highlights their friendship with Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton.

Earlier this month, Raveena Tandon also made headlines for similar reasons. She liked an Instagram reel trolling Agastya and Khushi’s acting skills with a caption that reads, “Acting died here.” As soon as the news broke out, netizens started speculating whether it was intentional or accidental. However, the actress issued an apology and clarified that she accidentally liked the video.

Further, the actress added that she was randomly scrolling through Instagram posts and was not aware of what happened. She wrote, “Touch buttons and social media. A genuine mistake has been blown out of proportion. The like was made in error, and something that I was not even aware of had been pressed by scrolling. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and hurt this may have caused.”
