Anushka Sharma Overjoyed As Virat Kohli Reunites With Family After Bringing Home T20 World Cup Trophy
Upon his return to India, the very first thing Virat Kohli did was visit his family, bringing immense joy to his wife, Anushka Sharma, who was overjoyed at the heartfelt reunion.
New Delhi: Virat Kohli straightway met his family first after returning to India following the Men in Blue’s return to the country post-T20 World Cup triumph on Thursday morning in New Delhi. The Indian team were stranded in Barbados for three days due to Hurricane Beryl before a special Air India flight, facilitated by the BCCI brought them home. His sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, took to social media to share heartwarming pictures from a delightful family get-together. The snapshots featured not only Virat but also his brother Vikas, along with his adorable nephews and niece. The photos captured moments of joy and togetherness, which quickly garnered attention online. Virat’s wife, the renowned actress Anushka Sharma, added to the love by reacting with a heartfelt emoji in the comments section, further melting the hearts of fans.
Taking to Instagram, Virat’s sister wrote, “Celebrating the win. SUPERPROUD.” In the picture Virat was posing gladly with his family, some family members even took turns wearing his champion’s medal, celebrating the triumphant moment. Team India pulled off a stunning late-stage victory against South Africa in Barbados, securing their first major trophy in over a decade. Shortly after this historic win, both Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from T20 internationals, marking the end of an era.

As always, Anushka was by Virat’s side throughout the tournament, which spanned across the United States of America and the West Indies. She was frequently spotted in the stands, passionately cheering him on. The couple recently welcomed their second child, Akaay, adding to their joy alongside their adorable daughter, Vamika.
Team India was scheduled to meet PM Narendra Modi for breakfast, after which they’ll attend a BCCI felicitation function at the Wankhede Stadium, following which they’ll participate in a victory lap in Mumbai. Tickets for the felicitation ceremony are free, but entry will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis. Team India was stuck in Barbados for several days following their victory, because of Hurricane Beryl. Anushka hasn’t starred in a film since 2018’s Zero, and her long-awaited comeback project Chakda Xpress seems to have hit a roadblock.
