Indian athletes enjoyed a successful outing on Day 2 of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, winning two gold and four bronze medals to take their overall medal tally to 11.

With their rich haul on Monday, India currently find themselves at the sixth spot on the Hangzhou Games medal table. The Indians had won three silver and two bronze medals on the opening day of the 19th Asian Games on Sunday.

The trio of Rudrankksh Patil, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Divyansh Singh Panwar won the nation their first gold of the ongoing Games by winning the men’s 10m air rifle team event.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led women’s cricket team would then script history with their 19-run win over Sri Lanka, winning the nation their first-ever Asian Games medal in cricket, striking gold on debut on top of that.
