Bhavna Chauhan on Rashami Desai criticising Ranveer Singh and Johnny Sin's ad: 'The intention has always been...'

In what came as one of the most unexpected developments for the audience, Ranveer Singh and adult star Johnny Sins were featured in an advertisement promoting men’s sexual health. The ad itself was quite the spectacle as it displayed the hilarious parody of saas-bahu serials with their over-the-top scenes and melodramatic music to convey the message. The mockery of the Indian TV soaps for the ad prompted a reaction from Rashami Desai, a popular TV star, who called the ad humiliating to the industry. Following her remarks, Bhavna Chauhan, who was also seen in the ad, has come out saying that the only intention was to normalise the topic.

Reacting to Rashami Desai’s viral post where she criticised the ad saying that it felt like a slap, Bhavna said that she does not think TV was disrespected during the making of the ad. She added, “Koi mazak nahi udaya hai (No one made fun of the TV industry).” Further speaking, she noted, “They are marketers and understand the ripple effect of such things. Honestly, the original script was funnier but they altered it accordingly. The intention has always been to make it look like a normal scene from a TV show so that it’s viewed casually by everyone at home. They wanted the topic to be normalised.”

Notably, after the ad went viral, Rashami Desai, through her Instagram stories, expressed her resentment. She wrote, “After watching this reel, which is highly unexpected, I felt it’s a humiliation to all the TV industry and people who work in television (sic).” The Naagin 4 actress continued to add, “This is really check for all the TV industry coz I feel it’s a slap. May be I’m over reacting but we show culture and love to our audience. And I’m hurt coz I have a respectful journey in TV industry. Hope you’ll will understand the emotion (sic).”
