Sunny Deol, who left an unforgettable impact on his fans with his iconic character from JP Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster war film Border, is now once again set to ignite the love for patriotism with Border 2. On Thursday, the actor took to his Instagram account to make an official announcement that Border 2 will soon hit the big screens. The movie will be helmed by Anurag Singh.

Taking to Instagram, Sunny shared a video where he can be heard speaking, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, Hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai (27 years ago, a soldier made a promise that he would return. To fulfill that promise, and to salute the soil of India, he returned).”

Border 2 is expected to be one of the biggest war films in Bollywood history. The announcement video concluded with the musical notes of Roopkumar Rathod and Sonu Nigam’s iconic track “Sandese Aate Hain” from the first film. In the caption, Sunny shared more details about the project, revealing that it will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, with Anurag Singh as the director. Anurag has previously directed films like Dil Bole Hadippa!, Jatt & Juliet, Punjab 1984, and Kesari.
Sunny Deol’s Professional Front
Coming to Sunny Deol’s professional front, the actor was last seen in Gadar 2. The movie was helmed by Anil Sharma and was the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster in which Sunny essayed the role of Tara Singh, a truck driver, while Ameesha Patel played Sakina. The movie turned out to be a massive hit and earned Rs 450 crore at the box office.
