Caught on Camera: Flight Attendant Bans Couple From Boarding Plane in Uncomfortable Exchange

While any flight attendant can tell you that dealing with certain travelers is a handful, a recent clash on a Southwest  (LUV) - Get Free Report flight between a couple and the attendant on duty shows just how rough things can get.

The video, posted to Reddit in the late hours of June 29, shows more than three minutes of footage taken by a couple barred from boarding their Southwest flight as they argue with a flight attendant. Throughout the course of the conversation, the attendant says that the couple "can walk away" and cannot board, as they are "jeopardizing the safety of this aircraft, and (I) am threatened by both of you."

The female traveler asks the attendant what behavior caused her to bar them from the plane, to which she replies, "you're flipping all over the ground, you're engaging, you're loud, you want attention from everybody. The whole entire crew saw it and all of us are in agreement that you cannot come on here."

"You mean the cartwheels I was doing with the children that I met on the flight?" the woman asked.

"As I was watching you drink your alcohol," the attendant replied.

As the conversation goes on and the couple challenge the attendant, she says it's against Federal Aviation Regulations to film her without her permission, so she wants law enforcement to make them delete the footage immediately.

Obviously that did not happen, leading to much debate on Reddit, with most siding with the flight attendant.

"Flight crew pretty much work as an extension of the FAA and you're trained to never let visibly drunk people onboard. Your inebriation level TRIPLES at a high altitude, so it's for everyone's safety," wrote user CounterfeitRed.

Others felt that while the attendant was in the right, she was "smug" and "enjoying it too much."
